There is a large hole in the tarmac in Hitchin Market , it was regularly reported to the Market Manager when Firthdene ran the Friday Market , it has been reported every week since they took over to the staff of Hitchin Markets Ltd , who say the council have measured the hole !! The hole is nearly 2 inches deep so should be repaired promptly by even by the most lackadaisical of councils . we await repair with trepidation less someone fall before the repair takes place .
The other part of the area is also interesting as there has been a long repair parallel to the stalls , this is only about 1/4 of an inch but will not be reapired as it falls below the 1 inch ( would you beleive it 1 inch !!! ) of the depth deemed to be a hazard , this despite the fact that seldom a week goes by without someone tripping on it !!
